Simply put, when the battery dies you open the case, pop out the old batteries, put in the new batteries, close the case and move on. Here are a few things to note in regard to the process.

When changing the battery no data is lost.

Before the battery dies a low battery warning is transmitted. This can trigger a notification if you configure one in the MAD Portal.

After the battery becomes too low to transmit the monitor can still count another approximately 40,000 cycle times before it stops functioning. Once the batteries are replaced these cycle times can be transmitted.
